Position Description : Converse University invites applications for one tenure-track position in the Department of Psychology at the assistant professor level to begin in August 2025.
The department has outlined the following three primary areas of need for our future growth and we seek to hire a colleague whose research and teaching interests can address ONE of these needs.
Our needs are : 1) Clinical / Counseling, 2) Animal Research, and 3) Developmental (with the ability to teach Statistics and Research Methods).
The teaching load is 24 credits per year, which is typically three courses per semester, plus one course in January term.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to the university's general education program, advising students, continued professional development, supervising student research, and providing service to the department, university, and professional community.
Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology by August 15, 2025. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, as well as a commitment to inclusive excellence , and provide evidence of excellence in teaching and research potential.
Selected candidates must complete a background check that is satisfactory to the university and be qualified to teach in the US.
