Position Summary

The Annual Giving Manager will help ensure the success of GLIDE’s annual individual giving efforts (donors of $1 - $2,499) which include direct mail appeals (renewals, upgrades, and acquisition), email appeals, online giving, stewardship, and targeted strategies for increased giving based on industry best practices and donor interests.

GLIDE’s direct marketing fundraising efforts currently include 6-8 mail campaigns each year plus comprehensive year-round digital direct response campaigns.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Annual Giving Manager is a key member of our Fund Development team, with an opportunity to learn and grow professionally in all aspects of development.

The right candidate will be an exemplary project manager who is also strategic, creative, and analytical. This person must work occasional, non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) and be present at fundraising events.

Regular and predictable attendance is assumed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements strategies for donor acquisition, renewal, and upgrades (donors $1 - $2,499), including stewardship.
  • Prepares and monitors the annual giving budget and timeline for all related campaigns.
  • Tracks and reports on campaign results and segments; adjusts strategies as needed.
  • Collaborates with Development Operations to evaluate donor tracking, record-keeping, and reporting systems related to annual giving.
  • Manages outside vendors, contractors, and internal resources to produce annual direct mail appeals, e-appeals, social media campaigns, and targeted appeals.
  • Oversees special initiatives, including Giving Tuesday, matching gifts, challenge grants, and recurring donor campaigns, in coordination with the Fund Development and Communications teams.
  • Works closely with the Communications Department to implement social media and online giving strategies, acquire client photos and testimonials, and manage website updates.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to acknowledge and track individual donors through timely letters and calls.
  • Researches and maintains knowledge of fundraising best practices and industry benchmarks to refine efforts.
  • Records all donor and prospect interactions in Salesforce, including meetings, calls, emails, and mailings.
  • Provides timely pipeline reports and revenue forecasts for related campaigns, analyzing data for strategic growth.
  • Generates prospect research and visit briefs in collaboration with individual and institutional support teams.
  • Supports and attends select GLIDE donor cultivation and fundraising events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA degree and 3+ years of fund development experience in a non-profit setting (or equivalent combination).
  • Experience with MS Office suite and fundraising databases (Salesforce highly preferred).
  • Experience managing a direct marketing program.
  • Strong knowledge of online and social media vehicles for fundraising.
  • Salesforce, Pardot, and Wealth Engine experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptionally strong strategic thinking, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely; editing and proofreading skills are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement simultaneous, goal-oriented projects.
  • Skilled in researching, analyzing, and communicating key ideas through written and verbal reports.
  • Outstanding stewardship with meticulous follow-through.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with strong project management skills; able to meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, committed, and outgoing; works well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Handles sensitive information with tact and good judgment.
  • Strong sense of initiative, accountability, and proactive follow-through.
  • Works well under pressure in a demanding, fast-paced, and unpredictable environment; operates with purpose, urgency, and accuracy.

$85,000 - $95,000 a yearThis role is covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
