Principal Engineering Program Manager Legal : The Principal Engineering Program Manager will help manage a portfolio of programs related to technology and process initiatives being rolled out for the Providence Legal organization.
The scope of this role is both broad (across a business unit) and deep (in terms of technical, process and continuous improvement required to develop and build enterprise wide IS services).
Their responsibilities span the life of the solution or service and include collaboration with Engineering and business stakeholders, engaging with caregivers, working with Engineering to define the solution or service, managing the release, establishing the solution / service's identity in the ecosystem, and connecting with and supporting the caregiver community.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology solutions to resolve business issues.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the Legal technology roadmap, and continually evaluate and monitor its effectiveness in meeting the company's objectives and goals.
- Lead several technology projects, including reviewing / assessing potential new technology solutions, new system launches, system upgrades, and enhancements in collaboration with the business team.
- Manage implementation legal system upgrades, enhancements, etc. as needed to support the goals of the department.
- Manage security requirements and implementation on approved new software.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of technical project plans, schedules, and resources, including technical requirements, specifications, and design documents.
- Communicate technical project status, progress, and issues to stakeholders, and facilitate decision-making and issue resolution.
- Analyze and document complex workflows and automations within legal technology platforms.
- Facilitate technical project meetings, including project kick-off meetings, technical design reviews, technical progress reviews, and technical project closure activities.

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering. Or equivalent educ / experience
- Related experience : 8-12 years preferred.
Preferred qualifications :
- Must have 8 years working within corporate legal teams or enterprise level law firms.
- Exceptional decision-making and prioritization skills, conflict resolution, community building, and follow through.
- Ability to help define hypothesis, requirements, metrics, and application with both business and technical partners.
- Ability to study systems and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques.
- Expert level knowledge of Agile methodology
- Desired experience with tools like iManage and Legaltracker
- Prior experience working with new initiatives and strong working knowledge of technology tools and applications used in Legal and Compliance department settings.
