Part I - Position Description
Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor will be responsible for student recruitment of an assigned territory and helps students and their families navigate the application and admissions process.
The Admissions Counselor acts as a welcoming and knowledgeable representative for Kentucky College of Art + Design during all events and activities.
This position has an intended start date of August 1st, 2024.
Part II - Responsibilities
- Develop a recruitment strategy for their assigned territory to achieve enrollment goals set each year.
- Communicate with high school counselors and teachers to schedule school visits and plan off-campus activities.
- Organize a recruitment calendar and attend events such as college fairs, award nights, art festivals, and application days.
- Manage outreach to prospective students and maintain a communication plan with inquiries and applicants throughout the admissions process.
- Partake in daily administrative tasks such as managing phone calls, texts, emails, inputting prospective student data and evaluating student applications.
- Lead on-campus tours for prospective students and families and help plan on-campus events such as group visits, open house and art workshops.
- Stay informed about campus happenings and keep up to date in all areas of the institution such as academics, safety, campus life, financial aid, and others.
- Work closely with the Communications and Admissions Officer to help provide content for areas of social media to attract prospective students.
- Engage with current students to build community and utilize their experience for recruitment opportunities.
- Participate in professional development and be an active learner in the strategies and areas of college admissions and recruitment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Part III - Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Work experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Must have a reliable vehicle for travel
- Valid current driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Extremely organized and able to meet required deadlines
- Ability to take initiative on projects and bring new ideas to promote the institution
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with other departments and relate to a diverse community.
