Hiring Rate : $110,000 to $115,000 per year (or $52.89 to $55.29 per hour). The pay rate may be commensurate with education and / or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

Job Description : The Executive Director is responsible for administering the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act ("NPADA"), leading the staff of the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission ("NADC") and assisting the Commissioners of the NADC in directing the Commission.
- STATUTORY OBLIGATION : Responsibility for the administration of the NPADA;
- PERSONNEL / COMMISSION STAFF : Hires and supervises staff, writes evaluations, resolves personnel issues;
- COMMISSION BUDGET : Works with Deputy Executive Director to develop and seek approval of the Commission budget by the Nebraska Legislature;
- COMMISSION MEETINGS : Prepares agenda, reports to Commission on status of budget, staff actions, legislative updates, complaints, investigations and settlements.
- COMPLAINTS AND INVESTIGATIONS : Works with General Counsel to oversee complaints, investigations, reports of investigations, hearings and actions by the Commission to enforce Commission Orders, as well as coordinating with the Nebraska Attorney General and Nebraska State Patrol;
- FILING AND FIRST TUESDAY MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADES : Oversees filing of reports and statements required by the NPADA; ensures filers have access to assistance and ensures First Tuesday Campaign Finance System is maintained and upgraded as necessary;
- INFORMATION TO FILERS AND CANDIDATES : Keeps up to date brochures, forms and educational manuals for filers, candidates, committees, lobbyists and others within the jurisdiction of the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act.
- INQUIRIES RELATED TO THE NPADA : Responds to telephone, email and other inquiries about the NPADA, its application and its enforcement.
- NEWS MEDIA : Respond to news media inquiries and provides information on public actions taken by the Commission;
- INFORMATIONAL PRESENTATIONS : Provides informational talks to organizations about the Commission;
- INTERACTS WITH THE LEGISLATURE : Interacts with Nebraska Legislature on bills affecting the Commission, providing testimony as needed and explaining the Commission’s opinions and actions.
- LATE FILING FEES : Calculates, explains, and advises late filers of rationale for imposition of late filing fees; Advises Commissioners concerning appeals by late filers;
- ADVISORY AND STAFF OPINIONS : Works with General Counsel in preparation of both Staff and Advisory Opinions; Prepares Advisory Opinions for possible Commission adoption.
Requirements / Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree; Successful managerial and supervisory experience; and Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Preferred Qualifications : Unwavering personal and professional integrity; Familiarity with and ability to analyze and evaluate legal issues;
- Familiarity with campaign finance disclosure laws, lobbying laws and governmental ethics laws; Demonstrated public speaking ability to address groups and respond to questions and answers from individuals and groups;
- Ability to work and function in a digital and computerized environment; Demonstrated leadership ability; Experience in personnel management;
Government service including responsibilities in administration and public policy.
