The College of Southern Nevada, West Charleston campus is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant II to work in the Department of Dental Sciences, Diagnostic Evaluation and Rehabilitation Services.

Duties include, but are not limited to :

Providing administrative support to program directors and faculty for departmental programs.

Preparing faculty contracts.

Coordinating and assisting with processing newly hired faculty and program personnel.

preparing and maintaining budget documents.

Answering phones for assigned programs.

Working with a variety of general office equipment.

Attending meetings and training at various campuses.

Attending program and advisory meetings and maintaining minutes from meetings.

Interacting with students, faculty and administration; maintaining accurate records and files.

Managing and prioritizing job assignments.

Ensuring work products meet established standards of quantity and quality.

Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two or more years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which includes providing administrative / program support to professional staff and management;
  • performing administrative duties in support of a manager and program; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele;
  • maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications;

OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Customer-service oriented.

Attention to detail, excellent planning, organization and time management skills.

Knowledgeable of Work Day and My CSN.

Computer proficiency and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms, Word, Excel, Power Point.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Problem solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and office etiquette.

Weekly Schedule

Monday - Friday : 8 am - 5 pm, subject to flexibility based on department needs.

Starting Salary

Grade 25, Step 1 $ 42,636.96

Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
