Software Engineer in Test

As a Software Engineer in Test, will blend extensive technical experience in test automation with business domain knowledge and data analysis.

In an agile structure, you will partner with Squad Leads to implement test automation and execute manual testing to increase efficiencies in testing and support the squad in building highly stable applications that meet business needs.

In FFIO Test Engineering Chapter, we work in partnership with squad leaders and squad members that align to FFIO Product Areas to promote testing practices, implement test automation and execute testing in support of technology-based initiatives.

In this role, the SET will be working with a team of technologists passionate about promoting testing practices, implementing test automation and executing testing with development and business partners!

• Developing and maintaining automated suites of tests to assess product quality and release readiness
• Train squads on test management
• Collaborate with the team on improving test coverage and overall application health
• Conduct manual testing when needed

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• 5+ years of software product experience working on commercially available software
• 3+ years of relevant technical experience and experience in test automation
• Proven experience in Agile / Scrum methodology
• Testing Process and automation experience
• Financial services and agile experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or greater is required
• Hands on experience with crafting and maintaining testing frameworks like Junit, Cucumber, Fitnesse
• Intermediate Java skills
• Good understanding of web services testing
• SQL skills is a must
• Data analysis and technical troubleshooting
• Build efficiencies in testing that increase agility and time to deliver business value
• Drive a strong quality practices and influence the Squad to focus on quality in each sprint
• Continuously focus on improving stability and resiliency of critical business processes and applications

• Experience designing and building applications and using test automation frameworks; Multi-stack engineer with knowledge in a breadth of technologies and test automation frameworks (Ruby or Java, Cucumber, Javascript / Angular, HTTP, RESTful web services);
• Extensive experience working with Java and its ecosystem; Passionate about Test Driven Development, developing robust software, writing testable and maintainable code;
• Self-directed, willing to take initiative, pragmatic and results-oriented; Has keen attention to detail and wants to solve really hard problems, not just detect them;
• Able to learn large software systems end-to-end quickly; Keenly interested in learning new technologies and their adoption;
• Able to work with remote and international team members. Primary Responsibilities : Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security;
• Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintain application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests;
• Support the team in designing reliable, portable, accurate and trustworthy tests, and in integrating them into CI / CD pipelines;
• Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health; Enable the team in designing and developing automation harnesses using Ruby or Java w / Cucumber and SOA Test;

Participate in application code and test code reviews with rest of the Scrum team; Participate in development using Javascript / Angular and Webservices / HTTP.

• Qualifications : A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field; 6 to 9 years of experience with designing and building front-end and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks;
• Working experience with : Ruby (or Java); Cucumber; Javascript; HTTP; RESTful web services; Jenkins. Preferred Experience : AngularJS (2 or above);
• NodeJS; Docker; Genesys Contact Center Platform; Working experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber w / Ruby, SOATest, Selenium);
• Hands-on experience with creating and using Test Doubles and Virtual Assets; Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations;

Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment.
