KBX is seeking a Business Controller to join our growing team! This role is an in office position located at one of our Koch Industries Corporate Campuses in Wichita, KS or Green Bay, WI.
The Business Controller will oversee the financial and accounting functions of the Transportation Services division within our company.
Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role collaborates closely with the Transportation Services leadership team to ensure precise and timely financial reporting and analysis.
The Controller is responsible for upholding internal controls, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with external regulations and standards.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the monthly financial reporting process for Transportation Services division, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Interpret financial data to provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and key performance indicators.
- Supervise accounting operations, including accounts receivable.
- Drive process improvement initiatives in collaboration with business partners.
- Mentor and manage accounting staff, offering guidance and training.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller as a strategic partner to advance the team to higher levels of performance and capability.
- Provide support to the Transportation Services leadership team with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other accounting standards.
- Establish and uphold effective internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5+ years experience in a Controller or similar role
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and coaching abilities.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards and regulations.
- Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; with proficient skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
