Job Summary
The District Retail Merchandiser coordinates a variety of field projects including new store sets, re-sets, and conversions to ensure that the company provides value added services to customers within the assigned district.
Essential Job Functions*
- Works with District Manager to plan, schedule, and implement projects. Addresses and resolves issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinates the successful assembly of product displays according to plan-o-gram, new item placement, and merchandising systems at customer retail locations.
- Leads temporary employees and third-party merchandisers at customer locations.
- Maintains excellent customer relations at the store level.
- Serves as a back up to Territory Managers as needed.
- Maintains ongoing communication with District Manager. Submits required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains required records and manages expenses within company budgets.
- Maintains a current knowledge of company products, field operations, and customer account specifications.
- Travels constantly within district or region.
- Work involves frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
- Work involves exposure to dust and occasional dirty conditions.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years merchandising experience, in retail environment.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows
- Knowledge of plan-o-grams - able to work off plan-o-grams in an efficient manner.
Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organization, planning skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public.
- Willing to travel 80 - 90% of the time when needed.
- Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance.
- Frequent overnight travel may be required.
- Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift 50 pounds.
