Position Location : Summit Behavioral Healthcare, 1101 Summit Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237
Work Hours : 1st Shift 7 : 30 a.m. - 4 : 00 p.m.
What You'll Do :
Performs semi-skilled & skilled repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water & steam lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, heating, air conditioning, lift stations, mixing valves, actuators);
operates & maintains boilers (e.g., water tests, minor repairs, adjustments); Performs semi-skilled & skilled maintenance, repair & inspection of equipment (e.
g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical circuits, electrical components of heating & cooling systems, fans, radios).
- does semi-skilled & skilled carpentry work in alteration & / or repair to buildings, & equipment (e.g., doors, windows, walls, woodwork, floors, partitions, stairways, furniture, door closures, locks, cabinets);
- does rubber roof repair & installs security devices, & locks; assists in painting or works alone in minor painting of fixtures, rooms, buildings, signs & equipment;
performs drywall repair & prepares surfaces for painting; assists in masonry work. Escort contractors per tool control & contractor escort policy / procedures.
On continuous basis, inspects buildings & equipment for needed repairs or replacements & performs systematic & routine preventive maintenance of assigned area.
Performs preventative maintenance work according to schedule.
- Performs routine non-skilled grounds maintenance duties (e.g., mows, trims & edge lawns & flower beds; trim & prune shrubs;
- cleans grounds, sidewalks & parking lots by removing papers & debris & operating power washer, uses hand shovel & broom to remove snow & ice;
operates snow removal equipment; participates in on-grounds forest management; maintains parking lot and roads for repair or weed control.
Cleans & repairs tools, preventive maintenance on equipment to include tractors, mowers, backhoe; installs attachments on equipment;
operates heavy equipment. Ground maintenance is required for all hospital courtyards and grounds.
Operates machine tools in making repairs to metal parts & equipment assists in repair & maintenance of interior & exterior maintenance equipment & other specialized equipment (e.
g., snow and ice equipment, groundskeeping equipment & shop equipment).
Performs other related duties as required : performs custodial duties related to maintenance projects (e.g., mops, sweeps, washes walls & windows);
attends mandated training sessions & maintenance meetings; Completes all required training. works with & around patients.
Assists with fire drills as needed.

Qualifications
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary;
- 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment);
6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in grounds maintenance; in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.
Valid driver's license required.
