This Assistant Manager role will have direct oversight of daily operations to ensure the highest level of performance in accordance United Airlines guidelines and core4 pillars (safe, caring, dependable, efficient).
This Manager will achieve objectives through consistently cultivating, maintaining, and creating appropriate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while collaborating to achieve process and performance improvement.
Partnering with our internal and external customers by reducing effort and personalizing the crew experience. This Assistant Manager will achieve objectives through consistently delivering caring service, coaching, development of team talent and demonstrate value.
Key Responsibilities :
Responsible for day-to-day operational performance of crew accommodations and transportation in accordance with company and contractual guidelines
- Oversee scheduler desk assignments and maintain operational integrity by actively managing team workload / staffing levels and hotel room inventory levels based on operational need.
- Lead a positive employee relations work environment, motivate working team, and create collaborative relationships within the team and applicable labor groups.
Ensure outstanding customer service for crew members seeking assistance and colleagues across the operations centers, procurement, and at our airports and more.
- Responsible for performance management and ongoing professional developmental support of 5-7 direct reports that work with our crews and vendors to secure transportation and accommodations.
- Ensure the proper number of unscheduled hotel rooms and transportation are secured, reused, canceled, within budget and maintain contractual guidelines
- Oversee specialized activity such as charter coordination, TDY, and crew relocations
- Assist with hiring and onboarding functions of Hotel Operations Schedulers
- Troubleshoot hotel and transportation discrepancies, investigate supplier performance issues, and respond to crew reports
- Emergency Response / EOC seat holder

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications) :
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in airline or hotel leadership
- High Standard for quality and attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with personnel at all levels of the organization, team members and external business partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated multi-tasking ability, problem-solving, initiative, and superior decision-making skills
- Hotel scheduling background
- Flexibility to work various shifts to support 24 / 7 / 365 operation (including overnight, weekend, holiday and overtime hours)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
