Duties and Responsibilities : Serve as the University of Hawai i-Manoa’s College of Education (COE) director of assessment, accreditation and accountability.
The position is responsible for Assessment, Accreditation, and Accountability (AAA) efforts in three major areas : (I)AAA Reporting;
II) AAA Information System and Data Reporting Efficiencies; and (III) Data Driven Decision-Making and Continuous Improvement.
I. AAA Reporting
Lead and direct COE assessment, accreditation, accountability, and reporting activities to meet university, state, national and federal requirements.
Prepare and present COE results at college, university, state, national, and international venues.
Manage Measuring Our Success on the COE public website by posting program data from the SIS, COE surveys, and other data sources in a timely manner;
and assist programs in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting their results.
- Manage and report data obtained through online COE surveys from program completers, mentor teachers, alumni, and employers.
- Create reports and respond to data requests from the UHM Assessment Office, Vice Chancellor's Office, Office of Graduate Education, Hawai i Teacher Standards Board, and other internal and external offices and agencies as required.
II. AAA Information Systems and Data Reporting Efficiencies
- Utilize COE and UH M?noa information systems to meet federal, state, and institutional reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with university and college faculty and staff to maximize efficiency and quality within data governance
- Collaborate with COE Technology and Distance Programs (TDP) to update and maintain the Student Information System (SIS) assessment functions, and assist programs in maintaining current data entry.
III. Data Driven Decision-Making and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with department chairs, unit directors, and faculty and staff to review and meet college and program goals for continuous improvement.
- Design and conduct continuous improvement portfolios / toolkits for use across the COE’s programs and departments.
- Out-of-state travel to keep current on assessment, accreditation and accountability policies, requirements and trends related to education;
relay information to faculty and staff.
Other Responsibilities
- Supervise graduate and / or undergraduate student assistants and staff.
- Maintain an active program of research / scholarly activity and publications in area of specialization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, statistics, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning and in addition, 30 credits of graduate study from a college or university in a field relevant to the position.
- Three (3) years of experience in conducting data analysis with the ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, graphically and verbally.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing successful assessment, accreditation and / or accountability reports.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals to meet team and program goals for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and working with assessment management systems to support continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of program accreditation procedures, and demonstrated ability to communicate requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with technology for data analysis, survey administration, reporting, and website development for assessment, accreditation, and accountability reporting.
- Successful leadership in working with faculty and / or staff to maintain faculty engagement in assessment and data entry into assessment management systems.
- Experience working with programmers, data analysts, and / or graduate assistants for data analysis and survey administration and reporting.
- Experience in co-designing web pages for electronic data display and visualization.
- Experience in making data presentations at the state, national and international levels.
