The Opportunity :
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring a Federal Work Study Coordinator in the Financial Aid department. The Financial Aid Federal Work Study Coordinator under the guidance of the Associate Director of Financial Aid Compliance is responsible for all aspects of the Federal Work Study program (FWS) including awarding, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Federal Work Study program regulations.
This position will work in collaboration with the Student Employment Office and Payroll, and will assist the University’s Financial Aid management team in creating adequate policies and procedures to maintain compliance with the FWS program.
The administration of the FWS program encompasses : determining student eligibility and posting the award; monitoring of wages to ensure students don't exceed their awards;
and submitting the annual FWS report to the Department of Education and assistance with FISAP completion.
This position will serve both the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses.
Responsibilities include the following :
- Serves as the Job Location & Development Program Coordinator.
- Serves as the liaison for students, staff and faculty regarding the Federal Work Study program.
- Award and adjust Federal Work Study in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Develop and disseminate Federal Work Study policies and procedures.
- Review job descriptions for off campus Federal Work Study jobs to ensure they meet the community service requirements and adhere to federal regulations.
- Collaborate with Student Employment to post off-campus jobs.
- Collaborate with Student Employment on the hiring, terminating, transferring and ending of a job for off-campus Federal Work Study students.
- Collaborate with Student Employment on Federal Work Study student hiring / onboarding.
- Supervise all off-campus Federal Work Study student.
- Develop and implement an accountability process for off-campus Federal Work Study students.
- Outreach : In collaboration with Student Employment develop relationships with non-profit organizations to increase community service reachDevelop and maintain relationships with high schools in the Daytona Beach FL and Prescott AZ area to increase the America Reads and Counts tutors.
- Reconcile Federal Work Study Funds : Reconcile Federal Work Study dollar amount with departments and payroll.Resolve any discrepancies found.
- Audit : Conduct regular audits on external departments to ensure they are compliant with Federal Work Study regulations.
Audit time sheets to ensure students are adhering to schedules and maximum weekly hour.Collaborate with departments to develop corrective plans when deficiencies are identified.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in student support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with staff, the public, various government entities and the university community.
- Be student centric with excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with diverse internal and external constituents in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, and individuals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent analytical skills.
