Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
- Assign, review and lead scheduled and emergency repairs on all injection molds.
- Ensure all work is performed in a neat and professional manner.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Review all work requests / work orders before and after every job.
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis and repetitive failures as they relate to injection molds.
- Assist with engineering projects / modification work.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Willingness to work as a team.
- Able to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.
- Attend gemba walks for assigned area
- Conduct training and training audits
- Attending production meetings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Apprenticeship Training certificate (preferred but not required).
- Five years machinist experience as it relates to injection molds.
- Fundamental understanding of injection molding
- Basic understanding of mold construction and mold maintenance principles.
- Basic math and trigonometry
- Machine tool set-up
- NC milling machines and NC lathes
- Surface grinding
- EDM machine operation
- Properties of metals as they relate to injection molds
- Blueprint reading
- Welding
- Basic Computer Skills
