Job purpose

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry.

The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

This position will develop, analyze, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts for the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) segment.

Key responsibilities

  • Interfaces effectively within the Asheville accounting team to leverage the manpower to support the multiple reporting unit and legal entity structure
  • Interfaces with counterparts in Asheville, Ramos, and Itatiba to support the most profitable approach to increase their presence and growth within the IAM segment
  • Interfaces with European IAM counterparts and IAM Controller to ensure the Business Unit needs and reporting
  • Develops user-friendly access to key business information from the computer system to continually improve or reduce the time required to assemble required data for financial reporting.
  • Support accounts receivable / payables function, general accounting requirements and ad hoc reporting.
  • Intercompany account support such as journal entries and reconciliations
  • Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
  • Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Identify and close safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings) and their corrective actions.
  • Communicate and enforce safe work procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Develops standard product costs annually and approves standard cost for new products.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent discipline required
  • Prior experience with SAP a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
