In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and executing experiments and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

We are looking for the right person in Salt Lake City, UT, Illinois, or Ohio.

What you'll do

• Design experiments / trials to conduct research & development activities, evaluate prototypes, analyze results, and oversee product launches.
• Document areas of responsibility during projects including product brief, formulas, tasting notes, trial requests and reports, internal raw material specifications, visual product quality and input for all Quality owned documents including Technical Product Specifications.
• Consistently partner with Marketing, Procurement and Finance to drive value creation through renovation, cost savings and future innovations.
• Be a subject matter expert in Raw Material and Product Management Systems.
• Support Engineering teams during internal and external manufacturing installation, commissioning and start-up of production lines.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external parties to design and develop new products as well as identify alternatives for renovation and cost savings.
• Utilize consumer and customer insights throughout all Product Development activities.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Legal requirements.

What you'll bring to tru fru

You are...

• An analytical problem-solver.
• Someone who takes ownership and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with problem-solving tools including root cause analysis, flow charts, and fishbone diagrams.
• Able to travel up to 50% of the time.

You have...

• B.S. Degree in Food Science or related technical field with 3-5 years of relevant Product Development experience in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food science fundamentals, product development, and commercialization process.
• Ability to work independently, understand challenges and identify solutions throughout projects.
• Ability to build strong cross functional partnerships and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

Pluses

• Frozen food experience.
• Understanding of the stage-gate process.
• Experience working with Trace Gains and Product Vision or other product management systems.
