2nd shift Material Handler - Production

Description / Scope / Mission

Operate various material handling equipment in the movement of raw materials, finished goods and miscellaneous items.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Exercise good safety practices to prevent accidents to self, others and facilities, and report unsafe conditions to the Production Coordinator.
  • Receive, transport and store materials following established methods and procedures for stock location, rotation and identification.

This task will involve unloading trailer and use of the computer system.

  • Stock Production with components following established methods and procedures.
  • Check for correct identity, quantity and appearance of materials, components, supplies and products.
  • Prepare complete and accurate records as required.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Up to 10 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1 / 3 of the time.
  • Up to 25 pounds to be lifted approximately 6 feet high and carried approximately

5-10 feet up to 1 / 3 of the time.

  • Up to 50 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1 / 3 of the time.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the

left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).

Dept perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial

relationships).

Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience :

  • Some warehouse experience a plus.
  • Basic computer skills and math skills.
  • Read, write and speak basic English language

  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals up to 1 / 3 of the time.
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 of the time.
  • Loud noise.
  • Safety (steel-toe) shoes required.
  • Safety glasses required.
  • Miscellaneous PPE as required.
  • Gloves and respiratory required for samplers.
