Responsibilities
Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
- Assess patients for nutritional status. Provide interventions / treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
- Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary. Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
- Provide nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
- Research and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
- Assist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy. Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- One or more of the following required :
- Dietitian / Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and from the Indiana Dietitians Certification Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Dietitian / Nutritionist credentialed from the Indiana Dietitians Certification Board and from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
Education :
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree / Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
