Job Summary

As a Guidewire Senior Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing Guidewire software applications and related components both independently and as part of a team.

You will be a part of our dynamic Guidewire Configuration Team where you will apply your expertise in gathering, documenting, understanding and articulating functional and non-functional already defined business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the Guidewire software applications and related components both independently and as part of a team.
• Assist in the process of gathering, understanding, and articulating, functional, non-functional, and business requirements that are already defined.
• Research and troubleshoot issues across different environments in order to rectify system problems in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required.

Or bachelor's degree required with 10 years' experience in software development.

• At least 3 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire required. Or at least 2 years of on-the-job experience coding and developing in Guidewire required and having attained the GW Certified Professional certification.
• Experience in Java, GOSU, XML, Insurance Vertical Experience, SQL Server, a modern code repository, (i.e. BitBucket, GitHub, etc.).
• Guidewire PolicyCenter experience is a plus, but not required.
• Proven experience in or knowledge of all SDLC components.
• Competent communication skills (sending and receiving), including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management, and product owners.

This position will allow for remote work in the following states : Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, & Virginia.

Applicant may be required to travel to Montgomery corporate headquarters at supervisor's request for meetings and / or training sessions.
