Claims Processing Representative
Position located in Dubuque, IA; telecommuting options available
Grand River Medical Group is seeking an experienced Claims Processing Representative to join our Revenue Cycle Team. You will provide a key role in reviewing and analyzing claims rejections, corrections and running financial reports.
The ideal candidate would understand medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, possess strong computer skills, be detail oriented, able to multi-task, work independently or part of a team and be able to communicate effectively.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Typical schedule is 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm with the ability to work a hybrid model after introductory period of some work from home and some in office days, with no evening or weekend requirements
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Answer incoming Revenue Cycle calls from patients and staff.
- Assist patients courteously with billing questions, payments, and complaints over the phone.
- Review and update patient information, making necessary changes and capturing correct patient demographics and insurance information.
- Prepare commercial insurance checks to be posted.
Education / Experience / Skills :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years' of similar or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of insurance billing - preferred.
- Ability to use computer, office equipment, including keyboard skills.
- Ability to work under multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently, as a team and with staff and / or patients as needed for insurance purposes.
- Must possess knowledge of billing for services and reimbursement in compliance with CPT and ICD guidelines.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written.
