General Summary : The Neurodiagnostic (ND) Tech Assistant is a support position in the Epilepsy Center and / or Clinical Neurophysiology areas, with duties designed to be flexible to meet the specific needs of the department.
The ND Tech Assistant assists the Neurodiagnostic Technologists by facilitating the workflow of the department. Individuals in the ND Assistant role will have demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to achieve results in a team environment.
Active participation in an intensive EEG training program will be required including the completion of ASET online learning modules.
Completion of internal competencies as well as hands on coaching required to successfully transition into the Neurodiagnostic Technologist role. Essential Job Functions :
Assists Neurodiagnostic Techs with tasks for the successful acquisition of routine and / or video EEG data for patients as requested.
Report all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to the ND Technologists.
Disconnects patient from the electrodes, cleans and removes equipment from the patient room at the conclusion of the study.
Performs cleaning of equipment, bed rail pads, and restocks supplies as needed. All equipment and supplies will be cleaned according to policy and maintained in the appropriate dirty / clean holding areas.
Works cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit / hospital goals.
Actively completes EEG 200-211 courses through the ASET program.
Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
High school diploma required.
Basic Life Support Certification required.
Minimum of one year of college classes required.
Minimum of one year of experience working as a C.N.A., Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, or other Allied Health professional preferred.
Entry level personal computer or Microsoft Windows knowledge
Ability to move machines and patients weighing more than 25 pounds.
Ability to effectively communicate with hospital staff and departments.
