Foster Dog Admissions Manager (Volunteer, 10 hours per week)

The Foster Dog Admissions Manager is responsible for leading the dog intake process, working closely with our Texas shelter partners and internal admissions team to ensure that dogs are successfully transitioned into foster care.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage relationships with partner organizations and guide the admissions team.

The manager will oversee all aspects of the admissions process, from evaluating potential dogs to coordinating transport and collaborating with the Foster team to make sure each dog is matched with an appropriate foster home.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about dog rescue and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities :

• Build and maintain positive relationships with Texas partner shelters and rescues to facilitate dog intake.
• Lead the admissions team, providing clear guidance, support, and communication on the intake process.
• Review and approve dog profiles, ensuring they meet the rescue's mission criteria.
• Coordinate logistics for dog transport from Texas to foster homes.
• Collaborate with the foster team to match incoming dogs with appropriate foster placements.
• Keep detailed records of all intake activities and foster placements.
• Communicate regularly with team members to ensure smooth operations and address any challenges promptly.

Expectations :

• Commit to 10 hours of volunteer work per week.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage the admissions team and external partners.
• Ensure timely and accurate decision-making in evaluating dogs for intake.
• Work collaboratively with other departments, including the foster team and transport coordinators.
• Maintain a positive and solutions-oriented approach, handling challenges with professionalism and care.
• Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve the intake and foster placement process.

Rescue Mission : At Path of Hope Rescue we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes.

We are 100% foster based and rely on volunteers and fosters to help in our mission.
