Assistant Professor of Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Butler University invites applications for an open faculty position.
This position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment. This position may become tenure track eligible upon matriculation of the first nursing cohort.
Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications at the time of hiring. Faculty will candidate teaching, scholarship, and service activities consistent with the typical requirements of COPHS faculty with a preferred start date of August 1, 2024.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is proposing an expansion of programs to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The program is a professional bachelor's degree that will seek approval from the Indiana State Board of Nursing and accreditation from Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The Experiential Learning Coordinator position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the clinical placement process, including recruiting adjunct faculty and clinical sites, serving as the main point of contact with clinical sites, overseeing the management of affiliation agreements, contracts, and related documents, and monitoring students during clinical placements.
This position will also have academic advising and teaching responsibilities in the BSN program based on area of expertise and needs of the program.
Faculty are also expected to provide leadership, represent and serve on department committees, collaborate with campus partners and engage in scholarship.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications :
- Master’s degree in nursing
- Current unencumbered or be eligible for an Indiana Registered Nursing License
Preferred qualifications include :
- Doctorate degree
- Teaching experience in higher education programs Nursing facultyClinically based nursing educator
- Evidence of positive interpersonal and group process skills
- Knowledge of current developments in nursing education and practice (nursing essentials, Next-Generation NCLEX, etc.)
- Evidence of contributions to nursing through research / scholarly activities
- Experience with clinical placement systems and management of students in the clinical setting

The addition of a BSN program is an expansion of healthcare related programs in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
