LHH seeks a Patient Coordinator in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities :
Answer telephone inquiries and manage patient appointment scheduling (initial and return).
Perform insurance verification, create new patient charts, and maintain accurate patient records.
Provide administrative support for closing patient visits, including insurance authorization, financial counseling, payment processing, and daily document research on electronic health / medical record systems.
Review charge information to ensure accuracy according to payer requirements; make corrections as needed.
Address claim edits, rejections, denials, and perform voids and corrections as necessary.
Submit clean and accurate claims, ensuring completeness of patient chart required elements.
Coordinate with the collection team to maintain the database, resolving accounts receivable.
Minimum Qualifications-
High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 2 years of office administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience with insurance verification and authorizations.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Spanish Speaking Preferred
At least 1 year of experience with EMR / electronic health / medical record systems (preferably NextGen and / or OnBase).
Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations, terminology, and coding / billing / reimbursement protocols.
Onsite in Tucson, AZ Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
