SCHEDULE : Full Time

TRAVEL REQUIRED : 0% - 25%

COMPENSATION : $121,716.00 to $243,613.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Farm Credit Mid-America / Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Our Director Credit Food and Agribusiness will lead a team of Credit Officers and Financial Analysts supporting the Association's Food and Agribusiness initiative.

In this role team members will coach their team in credit analysis, decision making, loan servicing, credit administration, and managing relationships with key internal and external customers.

They will also collaborate with the Food and Agribusiness sales and operations leaders to set team goals consistent with those of the Association.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Collaborate with the other credit leaders to provide strategic leadership and coaching to the Food and Agribusiness credit team that results in effective credit delivery to support outstanding customer service, timely decision-making, effective credit administration, and a sound portfolio.
  • Provide support for large and complex loan analyses and approval of loans outside of the team member’s individual credit authority.
  • Develop the team to serve as Association resources, to provide sound and appropriate credit decisions, and to work with the sales team to negotiate terms that best serve the customer and the Association.
  • Monitor the quality of the loan portfolio and keep key stakeholders informed about its performance.
  • Collaborate with the credit, sales, and operations leaders to achieve portfolio growth goals while determining ways to deliver value beyond the customer’s capital needs.
  • Network and collaborate with other Association leaders to meet the needs of the Food and Agribusiness team and the Association.
  • Model organizational values, inspiring a shared vision, and holding their teams accountable for culture preservation and growth.
  • Recommend, implement, and administer policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and Association objectives.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in business, agriculture, or related field. Bachelor's Degree in business, agriculture, or related field.

10+ years Progressively responsible credit experience, six of which include extension of credit to large, complex farm or commercial accounts, and / or capital markets accounts.

Past leadership experience or demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Mental & Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds.

Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage.

Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
