We are actively seeking a Senior Account Executive with a proven track record of creatively breaking through with lifestyle media outlets to join our Lifestyle + Consumer team of brand builders and storytellers.

In this unique role as Senior Account Executive, you’ll have opportunities to proactively build strong relationships with clients, secure meaningful press coverage for brands, create impactful programs and develop written content that directly support not only our clients’ communications strategies but impact business results.

Core Day-To-Day Responsibilities :

In this SAE role, you’ll :

  • Serve as a primary client contact working with brands across a diversity of lifestyle segments, including consumer, electronics, travel, hospitality, toys, and transportation, with the proven ability to successfully manage multiple account programs and priorities.
  • Directly manage day-to-day activities for clients, organize client teams, and lead regular client-facing conference calls.
  • Prioritize media relations activities, including developing creative angles that connect to what media are covering (or what’s trending with consumers), proactively engage media daily, and help our clients break through in top-tier outlets that influence their unique audiences.
  • Build and nurture relationships with lifestyle media across digital, print, and broadcast. We want to see you successfully build your professional network of media contacts!
  • It’s a bonus to have existing connections with editors covering travel, parenting, toy, general consumer, and transportation at lifestyle outlets.
  • Draft media and client materials as assigned, including press releases, executive bios, talking points, and media alerts.
  • Support in the development of editorial calendars for clients and draft content for client LinkedIn channels, client leadership LinkedIn profiles, or bylined articles to be placed in trade or business outlets.
  • Support in the professional growth of junior team members, including empowering colleagues to take on new tasks that challenge their skills, review the work of supporting team members (e.

g., drafts of press materials, pitches, coverage reports, etc.), and creatively brainstorm pitch angles that allow them to also successfully engage media.

  • Brainstorm creative partnership and activation ideas for clients as well as new business opportunities.
  • Help develop and execute product launch strategies.
  • Manage planning and execution of client events and press trips.
  • Multitask across multiple client accounts and projects ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Push the boundaries of creativity for our clients. This means you’ll track industry trends, share insights with the BPCM team and clients, and identify relevant opportunities for clients.
  • Assist in the development of proposals for new business opportunities BPCM continue to pursue.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Role :

  • 4-6 years PR experience (agency or in-house) working on publicity campaigns with consumer or consumer tech brands that reach mainstream consumers
  • Strong, established lifestyle and consumer technology press relationships
  • Superior writing, communications and presentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; adept at developing rapport with clients to maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to align press initiatives with the business goals of brands / clients
  • Expert at maintaining ongoing relationships with members of top-tier media
  • Proven results with top-tier media outlets
  • Proficient skills in key databases (MuckRack, Cision) along with the Microsoft suite of programs (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Problem solving and solution-oriented with a proactive, roll up your sleeves attitude

Location : This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office on a hybrid basis. We are seeking candidates who wish to work a hybrid schedule of WFH and a minimum of two days required per week in the Brooklyn office.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $66,000 - $85,000. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Where a prospective employee will be paid within the compensation range listed above will depend on a number of factors including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience and qualifications, the level of specialization the role requires;

budgetary considerations, and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based.
