Brief Description of Duties

The University of the District of Columbia, College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Education, Health and Social Work invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, administrative staff appointment.

The University services approximately 5,000 students across its two-year baccalaureate, masters, and professional programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses face to face, with opportunities for hybrid or online instruction.
  • Serving on division, program, college, and / or university committees.
  • Maintaining an active research agenda and working collaboratively with program faculty and area partners.
  • Performing service, administrative, and accreditation-related tasks as necessary.
  • Fostering an environment of professionalism and collaboration.
  • Demonstrating scholarly engagement, including research, grant writing, publishing and presenting.
  • Participating in recruitment activities; experience with CAEP or NCATE is strongly preferred.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • A master’s degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Student Services or an academic field related to job responsibilities.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience advising students or related academic functions within higher education or workforce development.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting program data.
