We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Runner / Kitchen Expeditor to join our team.
About the Position :
As a Food Runner / Kitchen Expeditor, you will assist servers with the delivery of food from the kitchen and ensure guest satisfaction through attentive service.
Your primary responsibilities will include :
- Delivering food to the correct tables and seat numbers while providing accurate and appealing descriptions of each dish.
- Communicating effectively with guests, addressing their needs, and anticipating requests before they are made.
- Assisting in the clearing, cleaning, and setup of tables, chairs, linens, china, glass, and silverware in a discreet manner.
- Greeting guests in a professional manner, serving food and beverages, and explaining menu items as needed.
- Assisting with stocking linens, china, glassware, silverware, and food items for service.
- Helping to prepare smaller items such as toast, soup, or beverages.
- Supporting the breakdown, cleaning, and setup of buffets and food stations.
- Working harmoniously with co-workers to ensure efficient service and a positive atmosphere.
Who You Are :
- A minimum of one year of food service or related experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information accurately and professionally.
- Capable of standing for up to 8 hours and lifting / carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Previous experience in a luxury and / or Michelin-starred environment is highly desirable.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; culinary school education is preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume, demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult situations and guests gracefully.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
