The firm provides a range of services to life science companies as they look to stand-up manufacturing facilities throughout North America, including creative capital solutions and structuring, facility development solutions, market diligence, site selection, development and construction, and process & facility design and commissioning.
The firm was founded in 2022 and is backed by prominent real estate investors with significant life sciences investment experience.
This position will also have the optionality to work on conventional off-platform real estate investment opportunities in partnership with these investors.
About the Role :
This role will lead the assessment, underwriting, due diligence, and closing of development and acquisition investment opportunities as a key component of the Vitrian deal team.
The position also affords direct participation in the deal structuring and capitalization process, as well as the opportunity to work on platform development opportunities.
The role will also be responsible for certain elements of asset management and investor reporting, including maintenance of portfolio models, quarterly reporting, and market research.
Key Responsibilities :
- Key member of the acquisition team in the underwriting and financial modeling of potential acquisition and development investments using advanced Excel models
- Lead due diligence for new investments, including the review of business plans, third party reports, title / survey, historical financial statements, leases, vendor contracts, and closing activities
- Assist in the credit assessment and financial analysis of potential life science clients
- Directly participate in asset management of owned real estate investments.
- Build and maintain working relationships to acquire market insights from internal and external sources, such as with lenders, brokers, investment bankers, healthcare private equity and research professionals
- Assist with investor relations at project and corporate level
- Create detailed Investment Committee memos and presentations detailing the investment opportunity as well as summary materials on potential clients including financial projection commentary and high-level analysis of their business plan
- Ability to prepare portfolio and company level models and presentation materials
Ideal Candidates :
- 2-3 years of investment banking, commercial lending, or corporate finance experience preferably in a real estate / healthcare / life science related capacity and
- 2-3 years of direct real estate investment experience with direct exposure to due diligence and closing activities. Alternatively, 4+ years of development / project management experience if combined with financial modeling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Argus proficiency or willingness to attend training
- Strong work ethic and integrity, candidate should be a team player who is proactive and self-motivated
- Strong analytical, interpersonal communication, and writing skills
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at various deal stages simultaneously
- Desire to and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment in a growing platform
