Job Summary

The jobholder maintains master data within the corporate supply chain team. The jobholder works cross-functionally to ensure master data is entered and maintained accurately.

This role requires a high attention to detail with a desire and capability to collaborate across different levels and roles within the organization.

The jobholder ensures the integrity of the master data and the processes to support the data quality as well as troubleshoot data issues.

Additionally, an ability to develop in depth business knowledge and industry best practices is required for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other functional departments to ensure all required information is provided to set up new materials, customers & vendors or modify existing in SAP
  • Executes master data creations within SAP and maintains system data in accordance with established standard operating procedure, templates / mapping documents, service level objectives.
  • Ensures all required SAP fields (material master, bill of material, routing, vendor and customer data, etc.) are populated completely with accurate data.
  • Functions as a master data knowledge resource by helping the business understand master data and the data workflow tools used to request adds / changes.
  • Collaborates with master data team to understand rules and data setup for new requirements due to system enhancements, process improvements, and / or business rule changes.
  • Provides support for testing and implementation as needed.
  • Provides subject matter expertise regarding functionality of master data for assigned projects and / or processes
  • Creates / maintains standard operating procedures, user request forms, and other documentation to promote data consistency.
  • Provides cross-training / shares knowledge with teammates to build skills across the master data team.
  • Continuously improves knowledge of master data to better understand how data elements are used both technically and by the business.
  • Maintains professional, timely and effective communication with all parties.
  • Provides timely and accurate information regarding master data requests.
  • Works with cross-functional teams on projects that relate to master data.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners (including IT, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Marketing, Supply Chain) to proactively troubleshoot issues related to master data, identify root causes, and implement resolutions.
  • Improves the quality and accuracy of master data by participating in routine audits and data cleansing activities.
  • Ensures master data is maintained as per data standard, control requirements and defined service level agreements (SLAs)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years SAP / ERP business experience in customer care, supply chain, transportation or equivalent.
  • Very strong understanding of SAP (ECC preferred) and utilization of Tcodes
  • Previous experience in a customer focused environment, preferably in a similar role in a B2B / CPG environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e. VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, advanced formulas, merging of data sets, ability to link various spreadsheets or data tables)
  • Experience with entering master data related to product (material / BOM), customers, and / or vendors into organization’s ERP.
  • Strong data entry skills and knowledge of supply chain functionality.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Able to form, foster, and maintain strong, positive, business relationships across multiple units and sites.

Demonstrate confidence and the ability to interact at all levels within the organization.

  • Able to work independently as well as across functional or matrix team structure.
  • Intermediate analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including good grammar, voice, and diction.
