The Legal Services Department at Round Rock ISD is dedicated to delivering comprehensive legal services that align with the mission of the District, Board of Trustees, and Superintendent of Schools.

Position Overview :

Round Rock ISD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Attorney to join our Legal Services Department. In this role, you will assist the General Counsel in performing a variety of duties, with responsibilities that include but are not limited to :

  • Providing in-house legal services to the Superintendent, designated staff, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Coordinating legal services required by the District, ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management.
  • Offering guidance, direction, and assistance to district staff regarding investigations and legal inquiries.
  • Drafting and issuing direct responses to individuals or entities not in compliance with District policies and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of educational law, demonstrate excellent judgment, and have a proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel in a public education setting.

Entry Qualifications :

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
  • A valid license to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible legal experience, with a focus on matters relevant to public education and district operations.
