Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development, the Leadership Training and Development Specialist II delivers learning and development interventions to effectively on-board, train, coach and measure performance of management, staff and physicians in meeting established organization goals.
Under general direction, this individual will research, design, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and evolve programs necessary to ensure a pipeline of leadership talent UI Health.
This person will focus on the sustained performance process, culture change and leadership development strategy at UI Health.
This role will ensure we are developing the skills and capabilities of our leaders at all levels to support the retention of employees, evolutionary growth and transformation of our health system.
This is a highly visible position with significant exposure to senior level executives and the opportunity to be autonomous and creative, and to lead innovative, best practice projects within a rec.
Duties & Responsibilities
- TRAINING : Delivers behavioral and skill-based training to a wide range of audiences, up to and including senior executives, as well as small and large groups.
- TRAINING : Develops and maintains training materials, reference guides, and eLearning materials available through a variety of sources.
Keeps content up to date in a timely manner to ensure employees have the industry best practices resources.
- LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND INTERVENTIONS : Oversees the delivery and content of corporate-wide Leader Orientation program including but not limited to program design, design & maintenance of training materials, compliance with The Joint Commission requirements, ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND INTERVENTIONS : Provides support for on-boarding new employees post-orientation. Provides tools and checklists to help new leaders assimilate into the organization and counsel others on the on-boarding and integration of new leaders into their specific department / division.
- LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND INTERVENTIONS : Facilitate Leadership and team retreat and exercises independent judgment to address specific issues that require risk assessment in line with organizational objectives, goals or policies.
Contributes to the design of a comprehensive leadership development program.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND INTERVENTIONS : Consults with business partners, delivers individual and team coaching for staff and managers.
Works with various teams in the organization to identify, investigate and resolve team concerns and issues. Exercises independent judgment to address specific issues that require risk assessment in line with organizational objectives, goals, or policies.
Contributes to the design of a comprehensive leadership development program.
MEASUREMENT & REPORTING : Manages pre- and post-learning activities, communications, and materials. Assists with the learner registration process and LMS.
Provides support to end users and addresses questions or problems as needed.
MEASUREMENT & REPORTING : Measures and reports on training analytics such as attendance, course completion, assessment scores and learning impact, among other things.
Creates and delivers reports demonstrating compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements as needed.
Continuously updates programs based on feedback.
- COMPETENCY MODEL DESIGN & INTEGRATION : Supports in the development, design and integration of employee and leadership competency models including data collection, organization, and validation efforts.
- ADDITIONAL TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES : Supports change and organizational culture initiatives. Assists with various special projects and other duties as requested (i.
e., anything falling under OD scope). Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Any one or any combination of the following, totaling four years (48 months), from the categories below :
- credit for college training leading to a major or concentration in education or other fields related to training and development such as human resource administration or business administration or closely related fields
- 30 semester hours equals 12 months
- 60 semester hours equals 24 months
- 90 semester hours equals 36 months
- 120 semester hours or a Bachelor's Degree equals 48 months
- credit for college training leading to a major or concentration in fields other than those previously listed
- Bachelor's Degree equals 3 years (36 months)
- Master's Degree equals 4 years (48 months)
- work experience as a human resource or training professional
- Four years of professional work experience in the training and development profession comparable to those listed for the Training and Development Specialist I.
A Master's degree in education or other fields closely related to training and development (such as human resource administration or business administration) or a Master's degree with a concentration in these fields may be substituted for one year of such experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in organizational development, training and development, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Knowledge in project management.
- At least four years of program and or leadership development experience (Instructional design and e-learning development, including Articulate Storyline, WellSaid Labs, and similar tools).
- Advanced Facilitation and communication skills.
- DiSC Certification or willingness to obtain within the first two months upon hire.
- Cornerstone LMS software knowledge.
