Senior Transmission EngineerWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc.is seeking a Senior TransmissionEngineer to join our team.

The Senior Engineer will be a part of the electrictransmission design team and will be responsible for the engineering anddesign of multiple projects ranging from small "quick turn-around" tolarge complex transmission lines.

This position provides the opportunity todirectly apply your knowledge of transmission lines to engineer and designtransmission projects ranging from 34.

5kV to 500kV. As a Senior Engineer,you will apply NESC, NEC, ASCE, and other applicable standards in theengineering design and will independently perform engineering analyses,plans, and specifications, as well as material procurement andconstruction documents, and work with project planning, environmental,permitting, and construction management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of the design of high voltage overhead transmissionline projects including but not limited to : Line routing, Structurespotting, Structural analysis and design, Foundation design, Hardwareselection, Conductor and shield wire selection, Material specifications,and technical support during construction,
• Plans and designs overhead transmission lines, including right-of-wayrequirements, structure spotting, line configurations, hardwarerequirements, structure alternatives, and foundation options.
• Develop technical specifications, prepare bid documents, and assistclients with bid and evaluation processes, including structure procurementand construction services.
• Prepare and review design documents for construction, including plan &profiles, structure load tree drawings, structure framing, bill ofmaterials, and foundations design drawings.
• Demonstrates ability to understand and interpret geotechnical reports andextrapolate information needed for foundation design software including L-PILEand MFAD.
• Leverages experience by mentoring and training lower-level professionalsincluding top graduates entering the field of the transmission line design.
• Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignments.
• Keenly focused on the production of high-quality work and supportscontinuous improvement efforts.
• Understands client interests and develop approaches to accommodate theseconcerns in the performance of the work.
• Serves as an overhead transmission line design technical specialist and hasknowledge and skillset to provide consultation and guidance to project teams.

Required Skills

• Requires Bachelor's Degree (Civil, Structural, or Electrical) froman ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Transmission Line Engineer inconsulting or utility environment.
• EIT Certificate with the ability to acquire PE in the near term.
• Proficiency with MS Office Software including WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint,and Project.
• Proficiency in Power Line Systems Software and other programs, includingPLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, PLS-POLE, CAISSON, SAG10, and ArcGIS.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, anddesign team through excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strongunderstanding of project management principles.

Preferred Experience

• A Professional Engineering License in the US is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing projects.
• A proven ability to work with limited supervision and guidance to executeand meet multiple project commitments.

Compensation Range Minimum

USD $90,000.00 / Yr.

Compensation Range Maximum

USD $ 20,000.00 / Yr.
