Interview Process :
- 1 phone call with the VP of Lab Services, 1 phone call with the Chairman of Pathology, In-person interview with the three other Lab directors & In-person shadow day.
- All interviews will be within the same week, if everything goes well the person will go in for a shadow day to meet the team.
Location : This person will oversee the labs of two midsized hospitals and a cancer center. They will commute between all three locations.

Team : This person will oversee 125 Full-Time Employees & additional contract employees. They will report to the VP of Lab Services, however, they will also work with the Chairman of Pathology and three fellow lab directors who oversee other locations.
Must Haves :
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in laboratory sciences.
- Valid registration as a Medical Technologist or equivalent or meets CLIA88 requirements for high complexity testing.
- 5+ years of Lab Operations Management experience
- Experience with hematology, chemistry, and blood bank
- Exceptional communication and soft skills
- General knowledge of laboratory technology in all disciplines and familiarity with regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing budget and statistical records related to laboratory's operation.
Plus :
- Master's degree is desirable.
- ASCP certification preferred.
Job Description :
One of our large healthcare clients is looking for a Lab Operations Director to join the organization. This person will oversee the laboratories of two mid-sized hospitals and a cancer center.
This person will supervise, coordinate, and oversee the technical activities of the department such as financial, human resource, and quality management.
They will serve as primary liaison for the lab to the campus.
Position Responsibilities :
- Supervises all technical operations of the Laboratory and non-hospital outreach clients serviced through their department / location.
- Responsible for compliance of all operations to appropriate regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Monitors financial performance through finance reports, adjusts operations to meet financial targets, and operationalizes process and technology changes for greater efficiency.
- Manages staff by monitoring technical competencies and nurturing behavioral development through enforcement of STAR standards.
