Job Duties

Patient Care : Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.

Diagnosis and Treatment : Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, including prescribing medications and therapies within your scope of practice.

Patient Education : Provide education and counseling to patients about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.

Collaboration : Work closely with other healthcare providers, and staff to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.

Documentation : Accurately document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic health records (EHR).

Administrative Duties : Assist with routine administrative tasks such as managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.

Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of practice protocols and procedures.

Compliance : Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as practice policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.

Licensure / Certification : Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Commonwealth of Virginia.

Certification by a recognized national board (e.g., ANCC, AANP) required.

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting, preferably in primary care or a related specialty.
