Unlimited Potential (UP) is a nonprofit organization that works primarily with homeless young adults, ages 18 through 25, who have aged out of the foster care system.

Services offered include : case management, document retrieval, housing resource assistance, life skills training, education resources, counseling, mentoring, and financial education.

Position Description

This is a professional, administrative position that does require hours outside of the normal 40-hour work week. Physical presence during normal agency business hours is required for providing supervision, ensuring availability for consultation, and attending to staffing and administrative functions.

Responsibilities include evening and weekend work. This position requires the ability to serve in an on-call capacity and respond to emergencies after office hours.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Proven performer in fiscal management, resource development and maintenance, agency and program planning, public relations and interpersonal relationships, including demonstrating tact, diplomacy and maintaining confidentiality.

Applicants should have knowledge of the foster care and CPS systems. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Program Administration
  • Perform overall management of the agency and all aspects of agency operations.
  • Select, train, provide ongoing supervision and evaluation of staff in accordance with UP policies.
  • Oversee design, delivery and quality of programs provided by the organization.
  • Analyze problems confronting the organization; present issues and proposed solutions to the Board of Directors.
  • Monitor utilization of the HUD / FYI housing programs.
  • Resource Development and Utilization
  • Oversee the submission of grant proposals to funders.
  • Ensure compliance with funding sources and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve contracts for services.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with current and potential donors through utilization of donor management software.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations, and leverage those relationships to strategically enhance UP’s mission.
  • Provide leadership that assures the organization and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive, and effective way through one-on-one relationship building and regular donor communication.
  • Assist in ongoing Public Relations efforts to expand UP’s community presence.
  • Fiscal Management
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures for receiving and depositing all UP funds in a timely manner.
  • Prudently manage the organization’s funds, resources and equipment within budget guidelines and according to current laws and regulations.
  • Provide regular and timely reporting of financial conditions, with appropriate documentation to UP’s Treasurer.
  • Work in conjunction with the agency’s bookkeeper to ensure effective funds management.
  • Prepare for and participate in the annual financial audit.
  • Board Relations
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with the Board and Board Committees; report directly to the Board President.
  • Prepare Board packets and attend all Board meetings.
  • Work with the Nominating Committee to identify new Board members.
  • Assist the Board president with new Board member orientation.
  • Participate in strategic planning, strategic plan implementation and provide regular progress reports to the Board.
  • Staff and Volunteer Relations
  • Create a culture of transparency, professionalism and positive communication.
  • Provide for effective supervision, training and evaluation of all staff.
  • Administer Board-approved personnel policies.
  • Monitor staff time, Paid Time Off and approve timesheets in accordance with State and Federal guidelines and agency personnel policy.
