Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary :

The Kansas Department of Insurance Market Regulation team is dedicated to ensuring market integrity and protecting Kansas consumers.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Market Regulation Compliance Examiner to join our dynamic team. The incumbent will perform work in the market analysis of the business practices, policies, and rates of insurance companies, resident agents, brokers, nonresident agents, third-party administrators, agencies, and other regulated entities to ensure compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations .

The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong analytical skills, thrive as a team player and will be committed to helping us in our mission to provide consumer protection and regulation of the state’s insurance industry.

Qualifications

Preferred

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business administration or related field(s)
  • Professional or technical experience in the insurance industry or a regulatory environment or other closely related field, as deemed by the Commissioner of Insurance to be sufficient qualification to perform the assigned work, may be substituted for the required college study

Ideal Candidates Will Have :

  • Passion for protecting Kansas consumers and assisting us in our mission to protect and regulate the state’s insurance industry
  • Ability to problem solve, research, and propose solutions
  • Ability to think analytically
  • Ability to work with a team and on your own independently
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing the area of insurance regulation or other regulatory area
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with governmental statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
