About The Role
Join our fast-growing Payroll team at Rippling as we build the future of payroll! As a Senior Software Engineer in Payroll, you will be a part of a team of engineers who build and maintain one of the leading payroll services in the USA (we process $6 Billion every year! ) You will play a critical role in advancing our full-service payroll platform that handles tax filing and payments for thousands of taxes across businesses.
This is a great opportunity to shape the technology powering an essential business function for over 10,000 customers. You will own and drive core initiatives by creating new products / features from the ground up as well as rearchitecting key components of our platform.

What You'll Do
Confidently ship moderate / large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects
Modeling and executing against requirements involving complex and interdependent systems
Taking ambiguous technical problem statements and turning them into an actionable plan, and then executing on it with the team
Implement comprehensive unit tests for confirming functionality and the quality of code.
Ensure high-quality code and related documentation.
Build relationships with teams across engineering, ops, and support, to understand their needs and help improve their day-to-day workflows
What You'll Need
7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
Experience building customer-facing products
Experience with systems operating at significant technical and organizational scale
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience in building projects with good abstractions and clean architecture
Knowledge of our stack : Python, Django, React, and MongoDB - this is nice to have but not necessary to join
