Position Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive, and responsive IT Technical Support Engineer to be part of our dynamic team. This role involves providing comprehensive technical assistance to our diverse team of professionals, ensuring seamless operation of end-user and remote office computing systems.

The IT Technical Support Engineer will also be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the hardware and software components to ensure the smooth running of these systems.

Key responsibilities include resolving network issues, configuring operating systems, assisting users with end-user applications, and using remote desktop tools to provide immediate support.

You will use your excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and solve issues varying from simple end-user questions to complex system malfunctions, both independently and in collaboration with our team.

Your goal will be to work proactively to maintain an operational, secure and up-to-date IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

  • Support end-user systems and applications as well as IT systems.
  • Assist in maintaining a stable and highly available IT infrastructure.
  • Support the implementation of new hardware / software solutions as needed.
  • Partner with Senior team members to address infrastructure support requirements.
  • Test & automate the User Lifecycle for device upgrades as well as through the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support & manage the implementation of the companies update and patching policies.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and end-user support for mobile devices and laptop / desktop systems.
  • Assist in implementing security controls.
  • Perform testing and debugging as needed.
  • Internal service monitoring and verification.
  • Implement and manage security solutions for end-user devices, including mobile and remote office setups.
  • Conduct regular security audits to ensure the safety of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Respond to security incidents, manage their resolution, and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure all end-user devices are compliant with the organization’s security policies.

Required Skills / Knowledge :

  • 5+ years’ experience using and administrating MacOS, Linux and Windows operating systems, Office 365.
  • 4+ years’ experience configuring, using, and maintaining Mobile Device Management (MDM Jamf, InTune, Apple MDM) and Single Sign-On & Identity Management systems (SSO Okta, JumpCloud, etc)
  • 4+ years’ experience troubleshooting user systems and applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer and cyber security including configuring, maintaining and onboarding users to VPNs.
  • Experience with public and private cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
  • Configuring operating systems to meet the needs of the users and organization.
  • Ensuring the security of end-user devices, requiring a high level of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Expected to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Frequent interaction with other members of the organization, both within and outside of the IT department.
  • Proficient communication skills to effectively communicate with end users, senior team members, and external vendors or service providers.

Qualifications and Attributes :

  • A bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience is preferable.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • 5+ years of experience working in an IT support environment.
  • Formal training or experience with Linux, MacOS, and Windows operating systems.
  • General knowledge of information security controls and standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework & NIST 800-53.
  • Familiarity with BASH and PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience with both public and private cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and firewall management.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.
