We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for general maintenance tasks, boiler operations, and end-of-shift security checks.
This role involves maintaining a safe and clean work environment while ensuring proper operation of facility systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform general facility maintenance.
- Conduct painting tasks as needed.
- Perform boiler blow-downs, conductivity testing, and maintain records of boiler operations.
- Handle end-of-shift shutdown activities, such as shutting down compressors and securing building access points.
- Conduct monthly inspections of safety equipment, including spill carts, ladders, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and sprinkler systems.
- Manage inventory of janitorial supplies and replace expired light bulbs as needed.
- Operate the Abcor waste treatment system during discharge cycles.
- Maintain professionalism and problem-solving skills while interacting with site personnel, vendors, and customers, and respond appropriately to hazardous or urgent situations.
- Identify abnormal situations and take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and policies.
- Report any suspicious or hazardous conditions to a supervisor immediately.
Qualifications :
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Forklift certification.
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
