What you will do

If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.

Responsible for leading and developing the long-range planning of the Engineering Team to support the broader offerings which JCI is bringing to our customers.

These offerings are part of our growth strategies and would include Corporate Clients, Design Build, Fire & Security, Integration Solutions and Vertical Market Solutions.

Employs practices and develops processes to ensure cost effective engineering while providing consistent delivery and customer satisfaction.

Teams effectively with corporate, project field teams, sales teams, and Area Management.

How you will do it

Develop Engineering Team strategic business plan consistent with Systems & Services' account management plans, mission, and objectives.

Understands the business environment of area markets and works with the Area Management Team to support this.

Develops strategies to deliver the "JCI Way" of field-tested standard applications that are reusable, installable, and serviceable.

Works with Sales to develop relationships with our customers that will help us penetrate the Design Build Market.

Reviews with Sales Management the upcoming sales forecasts to make sure that the Engineering Team has the right quantity and ability of resources to effectively support the future work.

Manages and schedules the workload of the engineering team.

Prioritizes work, supervises, and coordinates projects to ensure progress and timely completion of the engineering portion.

Provide timeframe estimates to project management for job cost evaluation.

Develops, implements, monitors, and communicates the Engineering team processes, strategies and standards.

Provides engineering input to assure proper project costs at pre-bid and upon project completion.

Works with and understands financial, contract management and other management reports.

Maintains high level of engineering standards.

Ensures maximum reuse of designs and programs.

Develops and maintains the area standard systems engineering library.

Mentors and coordinates the development of team members.

Develops team employees through implementation of their personal development plans, goal setting and timely performance reviews.

Develops standards for material procurement.

Establishes and maintains, with the cooperation of the Estimator, the Area's standard subset of materials.

Works with field installation teams to ensure timely delivery of contracted engineering to maximize execution.

Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, with 8-10 years of progressively more responsibility in the construction industry.

Prior experience in supervision of a technical / engineering group.

Understands accounting principles and cost management.

Good oral and written communication skills, especially in the presentation of technical material.
