Position Overview

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Director of Corporate Security responsible for managing the daily security operations of all buildings, including physical security and technology systems.

This role involves assessing and identifying potential security or life safety issues, developing preparedness plans, coordinating and implementing these plans, and providing crisis management control in the event of an emergency.

This role will require 5 days in-person at the NYC office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that all building security personnel are assigned to their respective posts and are proficient in their roles.
  • Maintain communication with security staff and the security guard company at all times.
  • Document all related security events as necessary.
  • Manage all security technology systems, including their use and daily operation.
  • Provide clarity and consistency for daily and emergency operational programs.
  • Maintain formal liaisons with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Organize, develop, and implement building-specific training exercises to enhance the readiness of staff and employees to respond to different security and emergency situations.
  • Assess potential security threats that could impact buildings and employees.
  • Work closely with the building staff and building security personnel to ensure that standard operating procedures and crisis management plans are formulated, planned, and executed properly and are in compliance with local laws.
  • Provide direction as situations arise or where there is a risk or concern, whether general or specific, or after an incident has occurred.
  • Report all violations of policy and procedures to senior security management.
  • Coordinate and review all FDNY permits for the building, including reviewing public assembly, supplemental AC permits, guard tour schedules, incident reports, and licensing.
  • Ensure that all fire / life safety protocols are up to date and implemented.
  • Communicate regularly with senior security management.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
  • Take proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment for staff and visitors.
  • Interview, hire, and train security staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in a security management role preferred
  • Prior law enforcement preferred
  • Knowledge of security protocols
  • Knowledge of budget and finance tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Suite.
  • Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $170,000 to $180,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.
