Responsible for driving the profit and growth of the Commercial Insurance book for the Pacific North Region of approximately $60 million of renewal P&C premium.
Directly accountable for driving renewal business production and profitable portfolio management.
National responsibilities for the Energy book / sector including profit / loss, execution of key renewal strategies for a $10M portfolio.
Engage with Industry Practice Leaders to support a key growth area for the country, act as the key subject matter expert for the Underwriting Center.
- Responsible for driving profit / loss for the Inland / Ocean and Property portfolio, including national oversight of key programs including the agriculture business, and the on line builders risk platform, approximately $65 million in premium
- Act as the Underwriting Center lead for the execution of all digital transformation initiatives for Commercial Insurance.
- The candidate must possess technical underwriting expertise including proven skills in strategically managing commercial property and casualty issues.
- This position has leadership responsibility for staff performance and development as well as the achievement of an underwriting profit, adherence to underwriting strategies, new revenue production, exceeding customer service goals and is accountable for talent acquisition and retention.
- This department has 16 team members and supports overall renewal underwriting for the Southwest region.
- Strong relationships with Commercial Insurance WHS Line of Business Leadership and the Southwest CI Regional Executives and the Regional leadership team.

- Proven ability to execute our Commercial product strategies through a deep understanding of the underwriting process by ensuring a profitable mix of business to grow and maintain this profitable portfolio.
- Assures the maintenance of underwriting integrity through education and an effective self-audit process.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and continuously improving key underwriting processes to improve underwriting productivity and efficiency.
- Strong underwriting book management skills to effectively align talent where needed to maximize opportunity within the aligned territory.

Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 - 10 years of commercial underwriting experience.
- 3-5 years prior experience managing staff
