POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant BT Trainer will provide clinical training based on the principles of Applied Behavior
Analysis to new BTs providing home-based or clinic-based services for Key Autism Services. The
Assistant BT Trainer will assist the Lead BT Trainer in hands-on shadowing and training classes for new
BTs while working with his / her assigned clients. The Assistant BT Trainer will be responsible for using
their clinical judgement and experience in the field, as well as the outlined BT training curriculum from
the training department, to provide new BTs with education, training, and guidance regarding
professional and clinical skills.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Lead BT Trainer and Director of Training for ongoing training curriculum needs
- Conduct in-person training sessions with BT candidates, including :
o Overlap and modeling sessions
o Final training session and competency evaluation
- Provides evaluation on required competencies throughout each scheduled training session
- Conduct direct therapy sessions with assigned clients
- Provide written and verbal feedback based on required training competencies
- Refer to additional booster trainings when little to no progress in required competencies occurs
- Take initiative to identify areas of training where changes are needed to increase competency or
decrease rates of referral for additional booster trainings on similar material
- Work collaboratively with a BCBA supervisor to implement basic ABA principles
- Arrive on time and prepared for therapy sessions (I.e., have all materials, datasheets, etc...)
- Provide direct ABA therapy to assigned client(s) in clinic setting
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
- Work collaboratively with the client(s) families and outside providers
- Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors
- Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
- Sessions must be completed with a note and signature within 1 business day of session
- All communication must be HIPPA compliant
- Must be responsive to communications from company
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BT Position :
o Working ABA experience with children in a 1 : 1 setting in-home preferred (# of
years dependent upon degree / course sequence)
o Minimum education - High School Diploma / Equivalent with one (1) year related
experience.
o Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Must be able to read and follow through with individualized behavior plan and treatment
plan designed and prescribed by supervising BCBA
o Must be a creative, hard-working, dependable individual with a passion for
working with individuals diagnosed with autism, and a positive up-beat attitude for
helping children.
o Reliable transportation is required to and from work
Assistant BT Trainer Position :
o RBT Credentialed
o Minimum of 1 years of experience in the field
o At least 3 months of employment with Key Autism Services, including excellent
performance reviews and treatment integrity scores
o Recommendation from BCBA(s) on current case(s)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Required to perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, kneeling, sitting on floor level,
or standing for periods of time.
WORK SCHEDULE :
A set schedule will be developed with the Director of Training and clinic Operations Manager, based on
BT training class needs and personal caseload requirements.
