Associate Director of Residential Operations

About the Position :
- Oversees the following Residential program areas : Residential Counseling and Residential Medical office.
- Performs a wide range operational and administrative functions under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Treatment Services
- Oversees recruitment, hiring and supervision of staff within designated program areas.
- Collaborates with Residential leadership team in the development and implementation of quality integrated treatment and family-centered services.
- In collaboration with Associate Director of Residential Treatment, provide clinical training and consultation for Residential Counselors.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are met in accordance with facilities staff and client / staff safety procedures.
- Oversight of all milieu-related issues including maintaining a welcoming environment for families.
- Facilitate coordination of milieu groups as part of the group treatment rotation.
- Provide leadership and operational guidance to staff of the residential program including, but not limited to responding to client concerns, monitoring and responding to incidents, ensuring the facility is well maintained and that staffing levels are appropriate
- Oversees Quality Assurance of Client Records, including compliance with federal confidentiality regulations.
- Ensures that record keeping is in compliance with best practice standards.
- Write, revise, and maintain residential program policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and alignment with Lund agency policies and procedures where appropriate
- Ensure effective communication between counseling staff and other Residential and Community Treatment staff.
- Provide clinical leadership, staff development, and supervision for all Residential Counseling staff.
- Participate as part of the on-call team in responding to residential emergencies and concerns.
- Actively participate in budget development, monitoring, and forecasting for responsible program area.
- Responsible for fiscal management of the residence, including ensuring responsible expenses and revenue generating activities.
- Ensures compliance with program grants, contracts and licensing.
- Manages Residential Program area budgets. Monitors and forecasts for responsible program areas ensuring responsible fiscal management including responsible expenses and revenue generating activities.
- Ensures that program evaluation tools are defined and used consistently and appropriately program performance data is regularly reviewed and reported as requested by the Director, Board of Trustees, grantors and other funders.
- On-call duties as assigned.
- Must have a nonjudgmental attitude regarding reproductive choice, parenting, options and clients with substance use disorder.
Displays caring, responsive, respectful attitude towards others.
- Position requires the ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines and demands, ability to work well under pressure;
- availability to respond to off hours crisis; home visits with community clients, some State-wide travel to attend meetings;
irregular hours at times to meet the needs of a 24 hours facility.
- Must work well on teams, accept group and individual feedback, and remain calm and creative during crisis situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Look For :
- Bachelor’s degree human services or related field. Master’s degree in Social Work or clinically related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing direct service within a residential setting required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing program oversight within a residential setting, and working with adults and families impacted by mental health and substance use required.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- Strong clinical skills, experience with multidisciplinary treatment planning and teamwork, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Proven collaboration skills and experience required.
- Strong desire and ability to work with the identified population, especially substance abusing pregnant and parenting women and effectively communicate and collaborate with interagency programs and community partners.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position either with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. Occasional statewide travel may be required.
- Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background check.
- Regular attendance is necessary and essential to meeting the expectations of the job.
