ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Lead the preparation of all contracts and timely responses to requests for proposals (RFP) and invitations to bid new business for the organization.
- Responsible for negotiating, drafting, reviewing, interpreting and managing the contract portfolio.
- Assist in mediating conflicts, resolving disputes and setting up agreements between individual or business parties.
- Protect and mitigate company risks that may arise from contractual commitments.
- Ability to clearly communicate critical issues, present analysis and drive toward solutions on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain familiarity with regulatory requirements for third party service providers and knowledgeable about federal and state contract laws and regulations.
- Work with cross functional groups to understand and interpret business requirements into legal terms and conditions.
- Manage contractual timelines and discussions regarding renewals, amendments and required changes.
- Research and apply business statutes and regulations governing healthcare in a correction setting.
- Review and draft contracts that consider potential liabilities and ensure counterparties fulfil their obligations.
- Represent legal viewpoints to share with leadership, management, medical operations team, human resources, practitioners and clients.
- Provides documentation, statistical information and other records as required by leadership.
- Participate in educational sessions for associates regarding emerging legal trends that impact healthcare in a correctional setting.
- Provide recommendations in the development and / or revision of policies and procedures pertinent to the correctional healthcare.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Juris Doctorate required.
- Current and clear license to practice law in Tennessee required.
- 5+ years of experience in contracting.
- Willingness to obtain licensure to practice law in all states of operations.
- No misconduct and in good standing with the State Bar Association.
