Job Summary : Creates, maintains and coordinates programs to reduce and eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. Apply knowledge and experience to coach, educate and mentor associates on safety compliance and to ensure safe working conditions.
Essential Accountabilities :
Program Management
- Works closely with the General Manager to plan, implement and coordinate programs with the goal of minimizing / eliminating occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Assists with compiling and analyzing statistical data related to injury / illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.
Incident Prevention
- Deliver safety training to new associates, conduct annual safety training, and facilitate retraining.
- Engage with associates to provide guidance on safe work practices.
- Monitor safety conditions and actions within the facility and surrounding areas. Conduct IFASE audits.
- Performs audits and conducts inspections of equipment and function of the manufacturing process and lead implementation of corrective actions.
- May work with access control systems and security surveillance systems.
Incident Management
- Respond to and investigate safety incidents, providing appropriate medical care, documenting incident and communicating with outside agencies.
- Provide case management of on-the-job injuries. filing WC claims, restricted duty management, maintenance of OSHA reporting, etc.
Regulatory Compliance
- Complete OSHA required documents for reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
- Complete assigned environmental reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain schedule and lead & document drills, i.e. Fire, Severe Weather.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.)
Associate’s Degree and 4 years of experience in health safety or environmental or equivalent combination of education and EH&S experience.
Has 10- & 30-hour OSHA certifications Solid working knowledge of Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health regulations with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations or will be required to obtain 10 & 30 hours of OSHA certification within 1 year of assignment to role.
- Strong computer skills Microsoft Products Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with operations to implement safety and health programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast -paced and rapidly changing environment.
