The mission of the F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) is to support students and alumni in developing life-long career management skills and facilitate the building of partnerships among students, alumni, faculty, and employers that result in rewarding and fulfilling careers.
The FDFCC is seeking a Senior Career Coach Consulting360.
The primary focus of this role is to build an experiential learning program that helps students gain practical industry knowledge to launch a career in consulting upon graduation.
The program will increase students’ industry knowledge, help them understand different consulting roles within the industry, sharpen their interview skills, help them build a strong industry network and ensure a market readiness of the students.
Consulting360’s Senior Career Coach will form relationships with alumni in consulting positions, business school faculty, and others who can help develop programming and workshops.
Core responsibilities of this role include :
- Career CoachingProvide 1 : 1 career coaching to students, which includes assessment of students’ goals and interests, resume and cover letter review, interview preparation, self-branding, and effective job / internship searchEnsure market and employer readinessProvide current, relevant market insight to students
- Program development and implementation of Consulting 360Design, develop, and implement a 2-semester experiential program to convey & develop consulting skill sets of students through group workshops and presentationsDevelop relationships with faculty within the school of business as well as alumni and other outside experts with consulting expertiseEngage alumni, faculty, and other industry experts to present in workshops and learning sessionsCollaborate with FDFCC employer relations colleagues to cultivate relationships with companies to recruit for consulting positions on campusPromote student engagement and participationManage all student activities related to the Consulting360Manage all administrative aspects of the program, such as budgets, contracts, agreements, record keeping, policy development, and departmental logistics for various initiatives and eventsCollection and reporting of statistics on student employment outcomesPerforms other related duties as assigned.

The duties and goals of this role are linked to the success of the program or initiative that the position is tied to. This position provides career counseling and career management education to students and alumni to help them become market- and employer-ready.
This position does not typically have direct reports but may schedule, train, and supervise temporary staff or student workers. Minimum Qualifications :
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses / Certifications / Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications : Preferred Qualifications :
- Commitment to student relationship building through an on-campus, in-person presence on a consistent basis
- 2+ years of relevant and recent experience in a consulting firm or department
- In-depth knowledge of the many options and career opportunities in consulting
- Experience in project / program development and management
- Demonstrated experience and success as a motivational, service-oriented leader who fosters enthusiasm, collaboration
- Experience with strategic planning, program evaluation, and administration
- Experience cultivating and managing volunteers / mentors
- Appreciation for, and experience with, working and managing strategically in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while also having the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Works well under pressure and is committed to meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with the academic, business, and international cultures is highly desired
- Masters Level Degree, MBA preferred
