ABOUT THEPOSITION

GTN Technical Staffingis seeking a Senior Application Database Administrator to overseethe development management and administration of our databases.

This role is pivotal in designing and implementing new datastructures managing existing databases securing all data andadministering all Microsoft SQL Server database instances on LinuxWindows and Amazon RDS.

The current environment is monolithic withan overabundance of stored procedures creating database performanceissues. This person will focus on performance and queryoptimization.

Your focus will be optimizing queries to create amore efficient database environment. The current design is veryvertical right now with too many sprocs tracking through 1 objectcreating scalability and performance issues.

There is a backlog ofcurrent issues that will need immediate attention but followingbringing the backlog up to date you will act as a"hunter" for performance issues vs.

waiting fortickets to roll in.

The Sr. Application DBA / Database Engineer will ensure 24 / 7 availability security andperformance of critical databases (SQL Server MySQL Amazon RDS).

You will design and optimize data structures consolidate data andresolve database issues. You will manage security and accesscontrol.

In addition the DBA / Database Engineer will collaboratewith developers to integrate database requests. You will supportSQL Server and SQLite processes for mobile apps as well as conductadvanced ad hoc reporting document data models and transform datainto actionable insights.

The Sr. DBA / Database Engineer will alsodesign and test backup / recovery procedures and lead databaseprojects for upgrades and migrations.

TECHNICALREQUIREMENTS

58 yearsin the following skillsets

• Database Administration / Design / Development
• Microsoft SQL Server DatabaseAdministration (SQL Server on Amazon RDS isideal)
• Performance / Queryoptimization
• Experience creatingdiagnosingandrewriting and implementing complex stored proceduresreports and queries.
• Excellent knowledge of MicrosoftSQL Server data backup recovery security andintegrity.
• Experience as astandalone DBA. Willing to work independently drive criticalefforts and plan and managework.
• Database monitoring tools Zabbix(or similar)
• Thirdparty tools such as RedgateSQL Compare and SQL DataCompare.
• Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills.
