We are looking for an Engineer - Maintenance to support the delivery of business objectives through the application of defect elimination, root cause analysis, project management, and technical support of on-site maintenance execution, operations and project teams.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make significant contributions to the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of critical assets in order to meet production requirements at the Rio Tinto Kennecott Smelter.

Reporting to the Reliability & Maintenance Engineer Manager and in a collaborative community, you will be :

  • Engineering and troubleshooting support of maintenance execution and operations teams
  • Identification, ownership and implementation of initiatives to deliver improvements in safety, asset performance, and cost
  • Capital project validation and delivery support
  • Initiation and facilitation of root cause analysis to mitigate acute and chronic asset failures
  • Reconciliation of production loss accounting data

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), or 5 years of equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering maintenance roles
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Experience with Defect Elimination processes and Root Cause Analysis methodology
  • Experience working in a fixed plant environment, failure analysis, and smelting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP or equivalent CMMS
  • Lean Six Sigma methodology experience or Black Belt Certification
